Coastal Scents 120 Palette Two Review

So I finally have the chance to actually share this wonderful palette! (ignore the crappiness of the photos, my iphone camera sucks)

So the palette came in some cute packaging and it arrived with no issues! Coastal Scents was very fast with shipping!

The first tray of colors were beautiful! A ton of yellows, oranges, blues, greens, purples, pinks and some browns, black/grey and other "neutrals"! So  far, I have been using mainly colors from this tray but i have used some from tray 2.

Tray 2 has some more pinks, purples, blues, greens, pink, REDS, more neutrals and some skin tone shades. I really like electric blue color and the darkest purple in this tray (I havent experimented with this tray as much because there are a bit more neutrals here). As far as the pigmentation, like 99% of the colors are highly pigmented and they are bright. I haven't noticed any creasing (my eyes have some natural creases though). I think I will add some swatches later because 120 eyeshadows is a lot of swatching.
Below is a picture of a green from tray 1 WITHOUT primer or anything
The Color is a lot darker in person, the lighting in my house just sucks at the moment.

E.l.f brushes (from Target Makeup Haul) review

So I really loved the other e.l.f brushes I have bought in the past (studio small angled brush, studio eye shadow “c” brush, studio small stipple brush, and an eyeshadow brush that came with the color crush palette). They were sold out of the one studio brush I was planning on getting but they had a studio contour brush that I got. I had heard some bad things about the essential brushes but at 1.00, it was a risk I was willing to take. Turns out that risk was pretty much worth it!

First brush: the essential blending eye brush

This brush was a perfect choice! I didn't have a good blending brush and this one does the job! The bristles are nice and soft and no shedding. I’m not sure about how the pick-up of eye shadow is because all I have used this for is blending. But it’s a perfect blending brush especially for just a buck!

Next  brush: essential smudge brush

I can’t believe that I lived without this brush! The bristles were soft but just stiff enough to work perfectly as a smudge brush. I used this to apply shadow to my crease and outer V. It does a god job of smudging but I don’t smudge all that much.

Next Brush: Studio Contour Brush

So I don’t contour so I just bought this brush because I knew I could use it for other purposes. I haven’t used it that much except for apply some shadow but the bristles are soft and don’t shed. I can’t wait to use this one more. Update: this brush is good for blending, highlighting, outer v and intensifying the eye shadow on the eye (it gets more color on the eyes than my eyeshadow C brush)

Finally: essentials defining eye brush

I really was excited for this brush but it was a MAJOR disappointment. It did great at picking up color BUT the color STUCK to the brush. It shed A LOT too.  The eye shadow barely got on my outer V with this brush, 90% was on the brush. The eye shadow is still on the brush now… So this one I’ll keep stashed away until I can do something with it lol.

Overall, I loved the brushes I got and I’m happy that my brush collection is a bit bigger now!

Another Makeup Haul!

So I looked at my measly brush collection and I knew that I needed to expand it. In addition, I got a bit overzealous with my brows and overplucked them. Thus, I needed something to fix my brows. Finally, I had been DYING to try e.l.f mineral infused primer so I had to get it!

what I got:
- e.l.f brow kit in medium
- e.l.f mineral infused primer in clear
- maybelline define a line brow pencil its an eyeliner (Im stupid) in brownish black
- e.l.f essential blending eye brush
- e.l.f. essential smudge brush
- e.l.f  essential defining eye brush
- e.l.f. Studio Contour brush

I will be reviewing these items separately (except for the brushes). I'm also excited because my coastal scents palette should be here tomorrow and possibly the brush I traded my lolitint for!!

Be a Bombshell Bora Bora Quad Review

In my March Ipsy bag, I really wanted to receive the Be a Bombshell Bora Bora Quad. From my review, you can tell that I received the NYX instead. So I went out and bought the quad off eBay (to save 6 bucks from purchasing it on the website). I got the quad a while back (in march) and I really do enjoy using it. So, I can finally review this baby!
1-4: Starlet, Bora Bora, Risky Business, and Rock Bottom
I like the quad and the colors. The pigmentation is good even though there can be a little bit of fallout and sometimes they can be a bit powdery. My favorite color is the Bora Bora, I like brighter colors on my eyes and this one is super pretty. Starlet works as a great dark brown if I wanted to do a brown Smokey eye. Risky business is a pretty coral color that I actually like. I’m not a big fan of pink but coral is great. It’s a subtle coral on my eyes which is nice for a causal look. Rock bottom is good for some gold-brown shimmer. It can be used with neutral look for a pop of shimmer.

Below are the swatches. They are WITHOUT a primer and each one ranges from 2-4 swipes. bora bora takes the most swipes at 4,  risky business and starlet took about 1-2 and Rock Bottom took 3. With primer, the bora bora takes about 2, Risky business and starlet takes 1 and I havent used rock bottom with a primer yet. (The primer I'm using currently is Pixi because its the only one I have, I plan on trying out e.l.f's)

1: Starlet 2: Bora Bora 4: Rock Bottom 3: Risky Business

Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation Review

This is the last item from my mini cvs makeup haul.

in shade: Sand
So I really needed a foundation that doesn't clog any pores and doesn't emphasize many lines or blemishes. I saw some good reviews for this particular foundation and its under 5 bucks! The darkest shade I could find was Sand so I picked that one. It actually matches pretty well (not a perfect match but this product is made for people with lighter skin). Another great thing is its staying power. It stayed on all day even in the hot sun! It has good enough coverage for me.  Plus it doesn't irritate my skin like L'Oreal BB cream did.

Just thought I would share a no makeup selfie :)

A Makeup Order!

So there was a sale at Coastal Scents and it was my perfect chance to try their eye shadow palettes (I have heard good things about them). Plus, the trade for my Lollitint for  the Coast Scents eye shadow brush is coming through. So you may ask, what palette did you order? The 120 palette 2!

120 Palette Two
I'm so excited! I love bright eye shadows and cant wait to review them! Plus there are some neutrals so I have options! I still have some makeup from my mini cvs makeup haul to review till then :)

Rimmel ScandalEyes Cream Eyeshadow Crayon Stick Review

So, this is another product I picked up in my mini makeup haul. The store was having a buy one, get one 50% so I decided to get this product because I had already gotten another rimmel product. The intent of buying this product was to see if it was a dupe for NYX’s jumbo eye pencil in milk (which I heard great things about and wanted to try). When I took the cap off and tried to apply, the large portion of the stick came right off (another bad sign). The tip was nonexistent afterwords. I tried it anyways. The color was definitely white and creamy. It was too creamy though, it smudged like crazy. I let it dry and it still doesn’t work well. Overall, I was disappointed with this product.I hope to try the NYX one soon.

e.l.f. Conceal Everything Concealer Review

Shade: Tan
So I bought this concealer because it was literally $1 and I like e.l.f products. The shade is a pretty good match for my skin especially considering that it doesn’t come in many shades. I don’t have a concealer brush so I have used my hands to apply this. I’m going to be using a sponge or something to help because I don’t like using my hands. The concealer does a good job at concealing. The only problem I have with it is that it gets on my glasses (inner nose “bar”). I’m going to  check and make sure that it wasn’t another product causing that to make sure. This concealer is definitely worth buying! It’s only a dollar and gets the job done.

Something to mention: I use concealers to help with my dark circles under my eyes and the occasional acne or blemish. So if you need more coverage, I can’t say if this product will help or not.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Eye/Brow pencil Review

So these are from the makeup haul. I got them for 99 cents each so I wasn't expecting anything super good. I got them in mink brown and dark brown. They are nice but they don't work as eyebrow pencils (they aren't hard enough because they don't create really precise lines except for the swatch I did of them). They would be great as a regular eyeliner though. I accidentally broke one of these though so now I just have one.

IPSY April 2014 Bag Review

So, I received my bag a while ago but I have finally gotten a chance to write up a review!

So the theme was "Beauty Rocks" and the size & color of the bag was nice (its actually more purple, the lighting isnt doing it justice). But, I think the design is a bit cheesy and they could have done much better.

The products I received:
- Kiss "Flirty" Lashes (full size)
- Benefit's Lollitint (sample size)
- Cailyn Tinted Pink Lip Balm (full size)
- City Color White Gold Shadow and Highlight Mousse (full size?)
- Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-on Eye pencil (travel size)

First, my favorite product of the bag: The Urban Decay Liner!

So I was excited to get this because I havent tried urban decay products before and they are a very popular brand. I really liked the formula and everything about this pencil. The only problem is the price. I dont want to pay 20 dollars for a full sized one :(

Below are pictures of the tip and a swatch

Next, my second favorite item: City color eye mousse

I really loved the formula and color. It looks like a wonderful gold color that would be perfect as a shadow. As a highlighter, this product is just too gold on my skin.

Below is a swatch of this pretty color!

Next, the Cailyn Lip Balm.

As I have previously mentioned, I dont like pink. So getting a pink lip balm wasnt too exciting for me. I did give it a try though and I was NOT happy with it. It wasnt the color that bugged me, it was the formula and application. The formula was SUPER drying (and it calls itself a MOISTURIZING lip balm) and the application was SUPER streaky. It made my lips WORSE than before. Plus when I swatched it, it stained my arm for a LONG time. I looked up this product on the website and saw it was $19 dollars?! I wouldnt have paid 1 dollar for this product. Im keeping this product in case I find some better use for it.

Below is a swatch of this lip balm (its in the color acid pink which i kind of like)

Next, the lashes.
I dont hate lashes but I wasnt excited to get them. I havent tried them and I will save them for a special ocassion or something.

Finally, The lollitint

So I didnt even bother taking it out of the packaging because this product is something I dont even want to try. I dont do pink blush and I already got a pink lip product (even though it sucked). I am currently talking with another ipster and I plan on trading it for the Brush.

So overall, This bag was a bit dissapointing but I found 2 great products and I know what products I dont like. I hope next month's ipsy is awesome!

e.l.f. Color Crush Eyeshadow Palette Review

As far as I can tell, it’s a limited edition palette. I can’t seem to find another picture of this palette anywhere! When I google it, other palette show up. This palette does say color crush on it. Anyway, I got it from urban outfitters for 2 bucks (on sale), originally 5 or so dollars. According to many other makeup user,  e.l.f can be a hit or miss (from what I read from some other people’s blogs and from the makeup talk fourm). Many people don’t like e.l.f shadows specifically. From my experience with this particular palette, there is some truth to their comments. Some of these colors aren’t super pigmented and can be chalky. But with that being said, there were some really great colors in this palette. Colors like 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 8B, 8C, 8D, 1D, 2D, and 4D look good without primers. Primers can make the colors brighter and more pigmented. After buying this product, I have bought other e.l.f products and have been super happy with them. Although this isn’t the best eyeshadow palette, it is something worth keeping especially if you want to keep your wallet full.

The swatches below are without any primer or base and range from 2-5 swipes.

This last swatch below is with a primer and only 1 swipe.

IPSY March 2014 Bag Review

So this is my first review. I apologize in advanced for the poor lighting. My apartment is dark and I needed to use a lamp to get these picture. This isn't an unbagging review because I have been using these products just to mention.

March 2014 IPSY bag

So March's bag was designed by Klari, CA local artist, for IPSY. I think its cute.

[Top Left- Top Right] Primer, Lipstick, Palette
[Bottom} Chella Liner

What I got in my bag:
- Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer
- NYX Love in Rio Palette
- Chella Eyeliner Pen
- BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick

First, the Primer!

Pixi Primer

What it looks like (unblended)
Blended (ignore the orangeness, its not from it)

So I didnt know what a primer was before I got this bag. I learned you wear it as a base for makeup. This particular primer has a bit of a sparkle to it which is nice (It is unnoticable when you put other makeup over it). Although I dont have any other experience with primers, I really like this one. I use it whenever I wear makeup.

Next, the NYX Eyeshadow Palette!

NYX Love in Rio Palette

Bikini Bottom Shade

[Bottom-Top] Shade 1 (lightest), Shade 2, Shade 3
So I really love the formula of this eyeshadow palette but the colors are TOTALLY wrong. The first 2 shades barely show up on my skin (in the picture, the first 2 shades are darker than in person). I wish I had gotten a darker set of colors. I do use the darkest shade though.

Next, the Chella Eyeliner

Chella Eyeliner Pen

In Indigo Blue

So I am sensitive to liquid liners and after trying them one time (before this liner), I refused to try them. When I got this bag however, I was excited to try it. I really loved the applicator and loved the color! It was one of my favorite items from the bag!

Finally, The lipstick!

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick (sample size)

in 'Get Ready' Color

It is important to know that I am NOT of fan of lip products. Even with my little experience, I  have never liked lipstick and lip glosses. Lip balms were the only thing I ever used. With that being said, I actually loved the lipstick formula. It was creamy, didnt get on my lips, and it didnt feel too thick. But, the color is not a flattering shade on me. It is too pink for my taste (it is less pink looking in the picture, and my skintone is darker than in the picture). Speaking of pink, I dont like the color pink. Don't expect for any review of pink makeup products unless I receive them in an IPSY bag.

So that was IPSY's March 2014! I really liked trying new products!
